Infants cannot be "spoiled" if they are held too much. Babies need constant, loving and tender touches to build self-confidence, trust and communication. Loving touches like holding, cradling, hugs, kisses and gentle tickles are important to a babyâs development.


Talk to your baby a lot. Talk in complete sentences â even as you carry out your daily routine. Tell him about the weather or what youâre doing at the moment. Talk and describe things to him as you get dressed, drive or go shopping. When you talk, he learns the rhythms of language and words and the sound of your voice.


Itâs never too early to begin reading to your baby. Starting when she is a newborn, make reading an everyday experience. Read simple childrenâs stories or make up a story as you look at a picture book. If you are reading a book or newspaper, read it aloud so your baby can begin to hear the rhythm and pattern of language.


A babyâs vision is the first thing to develop. Give her lots of things to look at. Safely hang things above her crib such as paper plates - draw black and white patterns as well primary colors like red, yellow and blue on the plates. Hold an object 10 to 12 inches from her face and slowly move it back and forth. As she tries to follow your movement, she will build eye coordination and neck muscles.


Every time you change a diaper, sing a song or talk to baby. Gently tickle his tummy and feet, make bike-riding motions with his legs. Make eye contact and recite nursery rhymes or make up silly songs. Make the most of diaper changing â your baby is a captive audience!


Make sure your baby has "noisy" toys so she can hear different sounds. Make a rattle by putting a few beans in a tightly sealed plastic container. Securely sew small bells to her socks, booties or shoes. Always stay close and play with your baby when she uses toys to make sure she doesnât remove or swallow small parts.


Play "Peek-a-Boo" and "This Little Piggy" for as long as your baby laughs and enjoys the games. When he turns his head away, heâs had enough for now. Give him time to rest before the next play. For "This Little Piggy," gently wiggle each toe, starting with the big toe, as you say each line of the rhyme: "This little piggy went to market; this little piggy stayed home; this little piggy had roast beef; this little piggy had none; and this little piggy cried âwee, wee, weeâ all the way home!"


Make sounds that your baby can imitate. Repeat them and encourage her to make the sounds like you do.


Use bath time for learning fun. For small babies, float brightly colored sponges in the water. Cut new new household sponges in the shape of fish. Make up silly songs about the bath tub fish.


When taking baby outside for a walk, talk about what you see. Describe the green grass, sounds of birds, texture of bark and everything you can see, hear, touch or smell.


Smile at your baby as much as you can. Smiling at him will teach him to smile in return and sends a positive, approving message. Approval can also come from gentle hugs and pats.


When your baby makes noises at you, treat them as conversation. Talk back. Your response will help teach your baby how to relate to other people and starts to teach the basics of conversation.


Repeat, repeat and repeat again. Repetition helps all babies and toddlers form a strong foundation for learning and good behavior. Donât feel you always have to have a new story, new song or new activity. Children learn from repeated experiences.


Help your baby learn from gently experiencing different textures and temperatures. Guide babyâs hand to feel a soft, furry plush toy; hard, smooth plastic; cold ice; warm toast or rough carpet. Itâs important to describe what baby is feeling as she touches. Be careful that textures or temperatures are clean and safe and wonât hurt little hands.


Babies can be fascinated by mirrors. Hold your baby close to a mirror so he can see himself. Point out his eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Play pat-a-cake or other games so he can watch himself in action.


Help your babyâs physical activity through gentle pulls and pushes. Place your hand on the bottoms of babyâs feet so he can push against them. Gently bicycle his legs and move his arms. Clap his hands or move his feet to the beat of different kinds of music.


It is never too early for a baby to experience all kinds of music. Starting when sheâs newborn, let your baby hear music every day. Music from other world cultures as well as classical, jazz and popular music can come from the radio, tape or CD player, live performances or just you singing or humming. Cleaning infant toys?

I've been cleaning my 5 months toys in soap and water. I told yesterday that it wasn't enough that I should be using Bleach and water. How do you clean toys?

I use the Clorox spray that santitizes but isn't bleach. I'm drawing a blank on the name- but it's very common. "anytime spray"- safe around pets/food/kids/etc
I use that- but not EVERYDAY time I wash the toys- and it also depends on the reason I'm washing them. If it's just becuse my son was playing in his crib with they toy and slobbered all over it- I use soap and water. If it's because he dropped it at the mall on floor or at the DR's office- I use the santizing spray. I used to ALWAYS use the sanitizing spray. I think some people thought I was crazy- I jsut wanted my son to have safe toys. But as he's gotten older and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth-I've realized that no matter how much you watch them, they are going to ocasionally get SOMETHING in their mouth that you wouldn't like them to. You're not too far off from that stage. I am still one of the most "anal" mothers about my sons things, I've just realized what's necessary and what's going overboard.
Use good judgement. Don't spend ALL of your energy cleaning your baby's toys- all that sanitizing/wahing/rinsing takes time. I swear I used to spend all day washing/cleaning/etc....
With that said- I still sterilize my son's bottles. He's 10 months old. I do it out of habit because we did it when he was a preemie baby. And I've just never thought to stop. Until tonight. And tomorrow I think I'm just going to start soap washing.

Clorox anytime sanitizing spray works great, is affordable and safer than bleach- plus it's already mixed. It's intended for toys.

Recently in my friend's family, there has been a lot of new births. Off the top of my head I know there are 3 girls and 3 boys; but there are way more. All of these babies are infants except for one little girl who is around the age of one. My two friends and I crochet, and we are looking for some easy and cute baby/infant items (no sweaters please) to crochet.

Here is a list I gathered from the web for planning my daughter's baby shower.....it contains many ideas...hope it helps.

1)Guess Mom's Tummy Size: (Materials- String or yarn and scissors) Have each woman pull the yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the Mother-To-Be's center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone cuts their string, compare the results to the Mommy-To-Be's actual tummy. Give a prize to the woman who is the most close! This is a baby shower favorite.

5) Guess The Gerber's: (Materials - Gerber's infant food, pads of paper and pens). Take the labels off of the baby food jars and have the women at the baby shower guess the food (carrots, peas, sweet potato). Most fun to play up to 10 jars of different kinds of foods. If there is a tie, blindfold the women and have them taste one of the jars and guess the right flavor to win their prize.

10) Baby Bingo: (Materials- Pens, Pre-Printed Bingo cards that use the numbers of how many people attend the baby shower) Prior to opening the baby shower gifts, number each gift on the box starting with one. If you know that 15 people will be attending your shower, pre-print bingo cards with numbers 1 through 15 and randomly place them on 15 cards. When the mommy-to-be's decides to open the presents, she grabs the present she wants to open and reads the number out loud. As soon as someone receives bingo, they win the baby shower game and the baby shower prize.

12) Guess the baby item: (Materials- any baby products and blindfold). A bag of baby items are placed in front of the mother-to-be for her to take one item out at a time blindfolded and tell her baby shower guests what item she has in her hands. This is really fun baby shower game when you choose some crazy baby toys or products.

24) Guess the Chocolate - (Materials- 5-10 diapers with 5-10 different types of chocolates). This game is one of the funniest and most popular baby shower games. Have the baby shower host or appointed person moderately melt 5-10 different candy bars separately, placing each one in a diaper to be viewed by everyone. Mark each diaper as A, B, C, D, etc. Have everyone guess which candy is in each of the diapers. Make sure to use some candies that have nuts, toffee, caramel, etc. You are sure to get great laughs!

55) Guess The "Celebrity" Baby (Materials: Celebrity Magazines, Baby Magazines, Poster Board, Glue) - Prior to the baby shower, go through magazines cutting out 15 different pictures of babies. Go through varies different magazines and cut out baby heads and celebrity bodies. Paste the baby heads onto the celebrity bodies. Try to use a variety of celebrities from different era's too as to accommodate the different ages of your guests. You can either use a giant poster board and paste the pictures onto it or you can paste the pictures to cardstock and laminate each one. Don't forget to number each one and write down the celebrity. Have each guest try to guess the name of the celebrity. The one who guesses the most correctly wins. Thanks to Trisha for this idea.

61) Baby Shower Onesies (Materials - Plain white onesies/different sizes. decorative permanent paints that are safe/non-toxic, cardboard) - Place small cardboard in each onesie as support and pass out the plain white onesies of different sizes to guests and have them write their names on the bottoms to dry shortly after guests arrive. During the baby shower, pass out the respective onesies back to the baby shower guests and have them decorate the front/backs of the onesies. The mother-to-be keeps the onesies and they serve as good memorabilia of the shower and a useful gift for the baby. Thanks Val

74) Baby Gift Bingo (Materials: Square cards with 4 or 5 squares across and down with pictures of baby items in each square - i.e., bottle, pacifier, blanket, clothing, diapers, etc - and a pen for each participant) - This is similar to bingo but is played while the mom opens gifts. Give each baby shower participant a square card with 4 or 5 squares across and down. The very middle is a freebie. All the other squares are filled with baby gift items that the mom may receive while opening her gifts such as pacifier, blanket, clothing, diapers, etc. Each card needs to be a little different in layout of the gifts and some cards have items listed that others don't. This way there will not be 5 people getting the bingo. The goal is to get a line of items across or down, sometimes if nobody is close then let the participants take the four corners as a winner. The person(s) with a line or bingo get a baby shower prize. This is fun for guests to do while the mom is opening the gifts and it keeps everyone involved. A great idea for our visitor Christine!

85) Watch What You Say - (Materials: Pen and Paper). This is just a game where laughter is the prize! While the mommy-to-be is opening her gifts, have the host or one of the guests write down everything she says while she is opening each baby shower gift. When she has finished opening all the gifts, tell the guests that you would like to read something to them! Say this is what the mommy-to-be said to her man the night she conceived the baby! Then read each little saying from the list! You will have everyone rolling in tears. Here are some funny sayings that was said at my sister's baby shower:
"Oh my gosh I've never seen one like this before!"
"Oh that feels so soft."
"Awe its so little."

86) Name Tag Donation Game - (Materials: piggy bank, name tags, pins or two sided strong tape) Before the baby shower, make name tags for the guests. The names have to be baby-related like pacifier, circumcision, dirty diaper, burp rag, etc. Put all the name tags in a bag and as the guests arrive, each will draw a name out of the bag and pin it on their shirts. This will be their name for the rest of the baby shower. If anyone calls the guests by their REAL name, then they have to put a quarter or just loose change in the baby's piggy bank. By the end of the party, the baby has a great amount of money for their first piggy bank. This is a very fun and hilarious game. Again, thanks to Kandi for this wonderful idea!

On index cards, write the price of each baby shower item and then randomly place the index cards in front of all of the items. Write a letter next to the price of each item and then have your baby shower guests guess by writing down the item that corresponds to the price. My Water Broke!
The day before the shower, freeze diaper pins, miniature pacifiers, tiny plastic babies, or similar items in ice cube trays. Give each guest an ice cube in a glass of water or other drink. The first person whose ice has melted so that the frozen item floats freely in the glass shouts, "My water broke!" and wins the game.

Poopy Diaper WINS!
Get some pretty white napkins and fold each one to resemble a diaper. Get some cute stickers to adhere them shut or buy some diaper pins and fasten them shut. Anyway buy some chocolate pudding and add a little green food coloring to it for a really realistic look! Everyone will be stunned - eeewwww! Tape all these diapers underneath all the chairs the guests will be sitting in. Announce that they all need to look under their chair for a special surprise. The diaper or diapers (depending on how many prizes you want to give for this game & how many guests there are) that don't have the poop in it can have confetti or glitter, or write a funny saying on it, "no poop for you". Everyone should get a charge out of this!

OTHER SHOWER IDEAS
Baby Bottle Nut Holder (for serving nuts at the shower)
Required: Baby bottles

Purchase inexpensive baby bottles. Remove the nipples and fill the bottles with a mixture of nuts and mints. Replace collar on bottle and shake contents into hands. It looks cute on the tables and it keeps hands from dipping into a bowl.



Punch Bowl
Required: Baby tub, rubber ducks, and teething rings

For a unique looking punch bowl you could use the small bathtubs that they give out at the hospital, purchase a baby tub or use your normal punch bowl. Purchase baby items to float in the punch bowl like rubber ducks, toy boats or whatever theme youâre using. Purchase teething rings, freeze and use as ice rings within the punch.

When do babies usually become interested in toys. My 2 month old only seems to like her dangly toys like from her bouncy seat, swing and crib. I was just wondering if she should be inerested in rattles and other things yet. Also, what are some of the better and more educational toys that they first play with?

93) The Price is Right - (Materials: Baby products, index cards, pens and paper for each baby shower guest) -Like the game show, purchase 10 different baby items (i.e., baby shampoo, soap, bib, lotion, rattle, pampers). On index cards, write the price of each baby shower item and then randomly place the index cards in front of all of the items. Write a letter next to the price of each item and then have your baby shower guests guess by writing down the item that corresponds to the price. Each guest will write their answer on a piece of paper. The baby shower guest with the most correct corresponding prices wins a prize! Thanks to Carolyn for this wonderful baby shower idea!

My Water Broke!
The day before the shower, freeze diaper pins, miniature pacifiers, tiny plastic babies, or similar items in ice cube trays. Give each guest an ice cube in a glass of water or other drink. The first person whose ice has melted so that the frozen item floats freely in the glass shouts, "My water broke!" and wins the game.

Poopy Diaper WINS!
Get some pretty white napkins and fold each one to resemble a diaper. Get some cute stickers to adhere them shut or buy some diaper pins and fasten them shut. Anyway buy some chocolate pudding and add a little green food coloring to it for a really realistic look! Everyone will be stunned - eeewwww! Tape all these diapers underneath all the chairs the guests will be sitting in. Announce that they all need to look under their chair for a special surprise. The diaper or diapers (depending on how many prizes you want to give for this game & how many guests there are) that don't have the poop in it can have confetti or glitter, or write a funny saying on it, "no poop for you". Everyone should get a charge out of this!

Required: Baby bottles

Purchase inexpensive baby bottles. Remove the nipples and fill the bottles with a mixture of nuts and mints. Replace collar on bottle and shake contents into hands. It looks cute on the tables and it keeps hands from dipping into a bowl.



Punch Bowl
Required: Baby tub, rubber ducks, and teething rings

For a unique looking punch bowl you could use the small bathtubs that they give out at the hospital, purchase a baby tub or use your normal punch bowl. Purchase baby items to float in the punch bowl like rubber ducks, toy boats or whatever theme youâre using. Purchase teething rings, freeze and use as ice rings within the punch.

Hi. I'm 33 weeks along with my first, and while picking up some stuff at the store today, it occurred to me- when do you need baby toys? I read in the nursing book that, for the first couple months, the baby can only see a couple feet away... I mean, there are little hanging toys on the "infant swing" we've got, and a mobile for the crib. What else do I need, and when? Thank you so much!

Never? LOL. Just kidding, but really - my 2-year-old still finds non-toy items more fascinating than actual toys, even though she has loads and loads of stuff to play with. Not something I would invest in heavily. Check out garage sales and second-hand stores for very gently used items, and don't spend a lot if you buy things brand new. It is just not worth it. When my oldest daughter was 9 or 10 months old her favorite thing ever was this silly plastic tube my mom had lying around - it held a large spool of thread she used for one of her many sewing machines (she's a seamstress). She wouldn't put it down whenever we would visit.

I have a little tykes play yard for my infant. She is supposed to lay under it for the infant setting, but it seems so loud.
I have heard to look for toys with volume control to prevent damage to developing ears. How do I know if it is too loud? The only volume options are on and off.

Toys with loud sounds are not good for babies and small children, because it can damage their hearing. Look for toys that have softer sounds or volume control buttons.

The stroller has held up very well... the swing is kind of a pain in the butt and falls off, but she loves it none the less. The crib is crap though... but she likes to sit in it herself, which i'm guessing is why it ripped so easily. Plus the bars move around so it's crooked a lot (which has to do with HER using it instead of the babies lol). I would love to get her a wooden crib, i've got my eyes out for that for her this year. I'm tempted to buy just the stroller in this set if I can find it... since it's bigger than the one she has now, she's starting to outgrow it a bit. But so far this set is a winner, she loves her, my nephew loves it, the kids who come to play love it.

Just wondering, what do you find is the best way to clean those soft cloth baby toys that have crinkles or noise makers inside, so you can't put them in the washing machine?

I used to work in an infant room in a daycare center and DHS regulations had us spray the toys with diluted bleach...take a clean spray bottle and fill it full of water then add one table spoon of bleach to it. Spray the toys over the sink and let air dry. If there are stains on them you are trying to remove, you can simply take a little bit of laundry detergent and rub it on the stain and then rinse it.

I need activities and toy ideas to help my mentally ill grandfather?

On July 3rd my grandfather fell down the stairs after he got home from the bar one night. After hours of waiting we found he had serious bleeding in the brain and would have permanent damage. It is now December and he is home but he has serious problems with how to say and react and i need something to help keep him busy. The nurse and I have thought about baby toys as a good use for his memorization but we'd like to get more ideas for toys and activities that we could use and give him to help.

Don't go with baby toys. I have had experience with patients of brain injury and they are more in there than you know. He might just get frustrated if it was baby toys. Unless it is like blocks and things with letters and numbers. Paper and markers are a good start. Get the oversize drawing pads. Flash cards too. But don't assume he is like an infant even if it outwardly seems that way.

My baby has RSV and I need to disinfect his toys soon. I know I can throw the stuffed animals in pillow case and wash them but what about all the other stuff?

Put some bleach in a bath tub full of water and dunk them in. The ones with batteries, just give them a wipe down. I understand completely why you want to get those germs out! My nephew had RSV and did breathing treatments and took steroids to get better. I remember him being sick for weeks. Poor thing! I hope your baby gets better soon. You should think about an air purifier like the ones Rainbow has. Those are great.

A. Diapers- I love Huggies. I loved Pampers Swaddlers for the newborn stage but haven't tried any other types of Pampers diapers so I can't really say whether I like them or not. I buy diapers and wipes at Costco but if I had to pick a store from your options, I would say Walmart or Target would be best and cheapest.

Wipes- I love Huggies wipes also. I do love Pampers Sensitive wipes for younger infants though. We used them on and off when my son was younger but as he got older, we needed a thicker wipe and I hated Pampers thicker wipes. I love Huggies wipes, they can come unscented and are very thick and durable. I buy them at Costco but I would go to Walmart or Target from your store prices.

Bottles- We love Dr. Brown bottles and for an older baby who's tummy isn't so sensitive anymore, we also love the Pampers Stage 2 bottles. I've also heard good things about Playtex Drop Ins but we've never tried those bottles. I bought my bottles at Walmart so that's where I would sugges you go. Again though, Target is usually pretty cheap too!

Formula- We have always loved Similac formula more then Enfamil and Gerber Good Start. My son is now on Similac Alimentum and we get most of our formula through WIC, but when I have to buy cans, I go to Walmart.

Baby Toys- We have tons and tons of toys! I love Walmart, Target, and Babies R Us for toys. Babies R Us is a little more expensive though.

Baby Furniture- We got all of our baby furniture and gear from www.walmart.com or at a Walmart store. We love all of our son's furniture and gear! Never had a problem with any of it.

Baby Clothes- I've never noticed any shrinking in Walmart baby clothes but we don't have a ton of clothes from Walmart. Out of your choices, I would shop for clothes at Walmart, Target, Kohls, and Babies R Us. Babies R Us and Kohls is going to be a tiny bit more expensive but they have good quality clothes! I also love Baby Gap, Macy's, Gymboree, and a lot of online stores (www.etsy.com, www.zulily.com, www.cafepress.com, etc).

How much bleach do you use to clean an infant bathtub?

Q. I want to get the infant tub super clean, but I've never used bleach before and have no clue how much to use. I know I'm supposed to dilute it in water, but what kind of bleach/water ratio do I need? Is bleach even safe? I saw a commercial for Clorox that said it's safe to use on baby toys and bottles, so I went ahead and bought some. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

A. I've never trusted bleach on my babies items, I've always been too paranoid that I wouldn't rinse it off well enough. I use the Clorox Everywhere spray. You can spray it & it's safe without rinsing it with water. I absolutely love it, and it cleans everything really well.

A. She has a variation of this set in pink: http://images.bizrate.com/resize?sq=500&uid=1085529364 We got it for her at Sam's Club last year. It's very cute. The stroller has held up very well... the swing is kind of a pain in the butt and falls off, but she loves it none the less. The crib is crap though... but she likes to sit in it herself, which i'm guessing is why it ripped so easily. Plus the bars move around so it's crooked a lot (which has to do with HER using it instead of the babies lol). I would love to get her a wooden crib, i've got my eyes out for that for her this year. I'm tempted to buy just the stroller in this set if I can find it... since it's bigger than the one she has now, she's starting to outgrow it a bit. But so far this set is a winner, she loves her, my nephew loves it, the kids who come to play love it.

What is the bst way to clean infants toys after they have been sick?

Q. My baby has RSV and I need to disinfect his toys soon. I know I can throw the stuffed animals in pillow case and wash them but what about all the other stuff?

A. Put some bleach in a bath tub full of water and dunk them in. The ones with batteries, just give them a wipe down. I understand completely why you want to get those germs out! My nephew had RSV and did breathing treatments and took steroids to get better. I remember him being sick for weeks. Poor thing! I hope your baby gets better soon. You should think about an air purifier like the ones Rainbow has. Those are great.

Baby Clothes- Do Walmart baby clothes shrink when you wash them?

A. Diapers- I love Huggies. I loved Pampers Swaddlers for the newborn stage but haven't tried any other types of Pampers diapers so I can't really say whether I like them or not. I buy diapers and wipes at Costco but if I had to pick a store from your options, I would say Walmart or Target would be best and cheapest.

Wipes- I love Huggies wipes also. I do love Pampers Sensitive wipes for younger infants though. We used them on and off when my son was younger but as he got older, we needed a thicker wipe and I hated Pampers thicker wipes. I love Huggies wipes, they can come unscented and are very thick and durable. I buy them at Costco but I would go to Walmart or Target from your store prices.

Bottles- We love Dr. Brown bottles and for an older baby who's tummy isn't so sensitive anymore, we also love the Pampers Stage 2 bottles. I've also heard good things about Playtex Drop Ins but we've never tried those bottles. I bought my bottles at Walmart so that's where I would sugges you go. Again though, Target is usually pretty cheap too!

Formula- We have always loved Similac formula more then Enfamil and Gerber Good Start. My son is now on Similac Alimentum and we get most of our formula through WIC, but when I have to buy cans, I go to Walmart.

Baby Toys- We have tons and tons of toys! I love Walmart, Target, and Babies R Us for toys. Babies R Us is a little more expensive though.

Baby Furniture- We got all of our baby furniture and gear from www.walmart.com or at a Walmart store. We love all of our son's furniture and gear! Never had a problem with any of it.

Baby Clothes- I've never noticed any shrinking in Walmart baby clothes but we don't have a ton of clothes from Walmart. Out of your choices, I would shop for clothes at Walmart, Target, Kohls, and Babies R Us. Babies R Us and Kohls is going to be a tiny bit more expensive but they have good quality clothes! I also love Baby Gap, Macy's, Gymboree, and a lot of online stores (www.etsy.com, www.zulily.com, www.cafepress.com, etc).

*I didn't mention Walgreens at all because I've never shopped at Walgreens and have no idea how expensive their stuff is and what quality items they have.

How much bleach do you use to clean an infant bathtub?

Q. I want to get the infant tub super clean, but I've never used bleach before and have no clue how much to use. I know I'm supposed to dilute it in water, but what kind of bleach/water ratio do I need? Is bleach even safe? I saw a commercial for Clorox that said it's safe to use on baby toys and bottles, so I went ahead and bought some. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

A. I've never trusted bleach on my babies items, I've always been too paranoid that I wouldn't rinse it off well enough. I use the Clorox Everywhere spray. You can spray it & it's safe without rinsing it with water. I absolutely love it, and it cleans everything really well.

When do you need toys for the baby?

Q. Hi. I'm 33 weeks along with my first, and while picking up some stuff at the store today, it occurred to me- when do you need baby toys? I read in the nursing book that, for the first couple months, the baby can only see a couple feet away... I mean, there are little hanging toys on the "infant swing" we've got, and a mobile for the crib. What else do I need, and when? Thank you so much!

Never? LOL. Just kidding, but really - my 2-year-old still finds non-toy items more fascinating than actual toys, even though she has loads and loads of stuff to play with. Not something I would invest in heavily. Check out garage sales and second-hand stores for very gently used items, and don't spend a lot if you buy things brand new. It is just not worth it. When my oldest daughter was 9 or 10 months old her favorite thing ever was this silly plastic tube my mom had lying around - it held a large spool of thread she used for one of her many sewing machines (she's a seamstress). She wouldn't put it down whenever we would visit.

Q. Not the Barbie type and not an infant/baby doll type. The old fashioned type a little girl can play mommy with and put "little girl" type clothes and shoes and socks on. Do they still even make them? I don't care if it is caucasian or not.

A. Pullip dolls. They are very cute and can open and close their eyes and can wink. If u live in the u.s, I recomend buying from www.pullipstyle.com. They have reasonable prices and are very trusted. Pullip doll prices can range from $80-$2000 if u get a really rare one. Most are about $90 or $100. These prices are for the full sized doll (12 inch). There are also little pullips which are 4.5 inch and taeyangs (dunno if that is correctly spelled), which are the male version of pullips and dal, pullip's younger sister. Here are some pics:
