I read in a magazine that when a new baby comes you should give your toddler a gift, so he feels special also. My son will be three when this baby comes and I was wondering how many parents actually did this?

Answer
Im going to ( 2 weeks away) it will include a gift from the new baby, a special picture books of her and family members, and a few "girl only toys". Im also taking all her onsies that had sayings on it when she was an infant and making her a quilt and taking a picture of her and the new baby, and her and her daddy and I and putting those on fabric. Were also going to be getting her a few new movies from Kai Lan. Lastly a big sister t-shirts. Right now shes SO excited for the new baby to come, hopefully that will stay once he is born. We are planning on really letting her be involved- helping us change his daiper, helping feed him ect so Im thinking of making her her own little diaper bag, for him or her own babies and then getting some paint and painting the outside of a bottle so she has her own special one.

EDIT- jeeze whats with all the thumbs down?

I need i check list for everything a baby needs for its first year of life? Can anyone find one?
